Each year our Mainstage Season hosts some of Nebraska's finest performing artists and arts groups. These have including award winning productions that we produced such as Pride and Prejudice, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cabaret, I Am My Own Wife and Man of LaMancha. They also include great productions that other area arts groups bring to our stage. Our current season includes works by Flatwater Shakespeare, The Angels Theatre Company, the Lincoln Contemporary Dance Project, OmniArts nebraska, The Apollon, Rusted Blade Productions and Red Theatre.
Encouraging area artists to create entertaining & challenging works on our stage is central to our mission. We welcome proposals at any time. Our Mainstage Season is announced each August and typically runs August-May.
Our 2011-2012 Season includes 12 shows. In 2011 the Lincoln Journal Star selected four productions from our stage for its top ten performances. These included our Nebraska Youth Theatre production of Monty Python's Spamalot, Flatwater Shakespeare's production of Angels in America, Part I: Millennium Approaches, Nick Jester's original musical Chiropractical and OmniArts nebraska's Marginalia @ 40. The twelve productions on our stage this year include seven original world-premiers by Nebraska artists.
